PROJECT

Design visuals to promote El Chigüire Bipolar's new Patreon community. Our objective was to create a series of graphics that effectively promote this community while maintaining a clean and humorous aesthetic that aligns with our brand's satirical and irreverent tone.

ROLE

In this initiative, I conceptualized the campaign and created the illustrations, ultimately launching the Patreon page. Additionally, I developed the ID Bonus benefit for subscribers, detailed below.

As a satirical news website, El Chigüire Bipolar frequently uses parody stories to comment on real-world events and politics. This is particularly evident in their coverage of República Bipolar, a fictional country that serves as a metaphor for the polarized and often contradictory nature of Latin American politics.

To further engage with its audience, El Chigüire Bipolar has launched a campaign inviting people to join the community and become a citizen of República Bipolar. As part of this campaign, all subscribers received a unique identity document that resembles the Venezuelan one, in their first month of subscription.

To promote the campaign, an infographic post was created to explain the various elements of the new Republica Bipolar ID Card, which was designed to be easily obtainable by joining the Patreon page. We sent a .PDF document they could print and cut, similar to the official one. Given the complexity of obtaining a national ID card in Venezuela, this was intended to be a humorous and playful “alternative” for people to get their ID Card.

As a nod to history, the campaign’s design draws inspiration from that of former Venezuelan President Isaias Medina Angarita, who was the first individual in the country to possess an ID card. Within the context of the Bipolar Universe, this same president is receiving the ID, serving as a subtle reference to Venezuelan history.
